Introduction post for New Beginnings blog!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the start of a new beginning!

Over the next weeks, I will be posting about my life with my Scottish Grandmother. This blog was created just for her…and I’ve desired to start a blog for a while. (Note: Thank you, Adeline Kurkinen, for being a big inspiration to me!)

To start, let me say a little about myself and Grandma.

My name is Liberty Durmaz.

I am a young Christian homeschooler in Pennsylvania. Ever since a very young age, I’ve had a passion for writing. Over the years, it has grown and been cultivated. I am especially thankful to my parents who have encouraged me to flourish in my love for writing.

Now, I’m starting a new journey in writing with starting this blog. I hope you enjoy reading my posts just as much as I enjoy writing them.

I’m so very grateful for my family, for all their encouragement and support. This wouldn’t have happened without them. I am eternally grateful to both of my parents for training me up to follow the ways of Christ. Without Him, this blog would not exist, either.

One more thing about me: I love animals.

God has blessed me with a dog named Buddy. He’s a gorgeous mix-breed hound dog with a brindle coat. I’ve loved the opportunity to take care of him, train him, and see him shine in obedience.

So, although this blog’s mainly about Grandma, don’t be too surprised if you see and read a lot about him, too.

Without anymore delay, let me introduce to you the queen of the blog: Margaret Ann Sutherland Butson. (My grandmother)

Grandma Margaret is Scottish, hailing from the Sutherland clan of Scotland. My family is well pleased of this Scottish heritage that Grandma has brought into our family.

Recently, Grandma moved in to live with my family. This is an answer to a prayer that Papa started many years ago. He’s made mention of this coming day many times in the past years. Now, God has honored his request.

Upon arrival at this new home, Grandma’s condition was not the best. Last year, she had an accident in which she fractured her right arm. Among other issues, her health has declined greatly. But now that she is out here with us, we are working together to help her grow in her health and in many other areas as well.

This blog is a way to capture this journey together, and also share it with our other family members. For all the friends that may be reading this, you get to see a little of what our life is like and to read my writings.

My plan is to publish a new post every Saturday. So, jump onto the mailing list where you will be notified of upcoming posts, and enjoy the journey with me!

His Mercy Endures,

Liberty Durmaz
