The Epoch Times Article on Income Tax

On October 6th, nationally acclaimed newspaper The Epoch Times published a story about me—about my overcoming the bureaucratic and communistic stronghold of the IRS. As of this date, this article has been commented on 1206 times and shared 3005 times. If you’ve not read it yet, you’ll find it here.

The comments seem to be consistently divided between those who support my position of cutting off the IRS seventeen years ago and those who oppose my status and standing. I receive my ultimate comfort from the King’s perfect Law of Liberty:

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. For you, brethren, have been called to liberty….” —Galatians 5:1, 13a (NKJV)

And from the very Comforter Himself:

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” —John 14:26 (KJV)

For 27 years I’ve been studying America’s providential view of history, law, and government. One of the world-overcoming realities is discovering how exceptional our country is, not because of the men and women used by God in her founding, but because of the mighty works of Jesus Christ through those individuals and events.

One of those mighty works of America’s unseen King is economic liberty. In other words, divulging one’s private financial affairs to complete strangers is an encroachment to your life, your liberty, and your property. Your labor is your property for your exclusive use and disposition à la the 8th commandment.

How The Epoch Times article came about is that a reporter visited my exhibit at an event called Liberty Fest in my home county of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I was promoting my forthcoming book, What is an American.  My interest is in casting vision for the resurrection of American freedom out of one’s home in contrast with manufactured freedom under socialism, Marxism, and communism.

The reporter, Beth Brelje, followed up with me the next week, and in that conversation about an article she wants to write concerning the Christian view of politics, something came up about me no longer filing with the IRS. So she was very interested in writing about income taxation, while thinking through the angle for Christian politics.

As a result of The Epoch Times article, there are well over sixty people who learned of our family ministry, and chose to be a supporter of Household Embassy International Services. I’m deeply grateful for all these people who want to learn more of how their houses are KEY to America’s freedom by taking possession of what is distinctly good on the King’s land.

The truth is that we’ve all been immersed in socialism, Marxism, and communism since before we were born. Unless one intentionally studies the mighty works of King Jesus, the default position is that we are practicing these false religions in opposition to the virtue of America’s unseen King to govern His own people.

Yet many of us are attending weekly meetings where the Bible is taught. So how is it that the freest people on the land, (“…if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed”) are entangled with the affairs of the natural life instead of a heavenly life on earth? It’s only because the King’s anointing of burden-removing, yoke-destroying virtue is not present in the individual or simply not developed.

Attending meetings is by no means evidence of being set free from law-breaking (sin). A genuine saving faith will be evidenced by its exercise in your family life, work life, and social life. In other words, I am no longer relegated to a powerless meeting-kind-of-faith (passive listening). Rather, I have a kind of faith that is given me by the King Himself—that’s a using kind.

A using-kind-of-faith rooted in the gospel Law of Liberty is exercised in all matters of life. This includes one’s labor, how one travels on the King’s land, how to operate a business, and educating one’s children—all summed up in you taking dominion on the King’s land, not you being dominated by complete strangers to the denial of the King's virtue within.

His virtue for overcoming the evil empire is manifest to the degree that study, training, and obedience to the King’s Law of Love to Him and neighbor takes root in our innermost being. That’s the trajectory I’ve been on for at least 27 years, and once you’re on that path of unlimited submission and obedience to the King, the separation between your friends and foes becomes clear.

“To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.”  —Titus 1:15-16

Mark, may the Spirit of our King enable (grace) your heart’s desire. The victory that overcomes the fallen world order, our flesh, and devils, is our using-kind-of-faith. Faith in our unsee King is the victory that overcomes all things today. Is that not His utterly good news?

We all need a fresh revealing of the power of The Anointed One in us. When the Spirit opens our eyes to an area of life, we are being further liberated for ACTS of obedience—taking additional ground for the interests of our unseen King. It’s not about our plans as an end goal. At the same time make plans for the better ordering of your housheold government. Most certainly greater and greater well-ordered liberty is His will, which is evidence that His government of self-government is having increase.

May all the good experiences of the Lord Jesus Christ be done unto you according to your faith. That’s His promise, and faith is the coin of the realm of His kingdom government. I know this truth, not only because it is the teaching of Scripture, but because it is my personal experience in my faith walk with the risen King.

I agree with Barry. LORD, help my unbelief.
