American Christian Principles of Government—Part 4: Property

Many Americans believe they are free, and that is a good belief to embrace. But if we hold up modern freedom to the lens of the King’s perfect law of liberty, we must deduce that the authentic article of freedom has been replaced with a manufactured version because all freedom begins with the King.

Well over two decades ago, I became thrilled to learn from my American Christian history teachers that freedom and property go together. The evidence of freedom is property.

At the same time, what makes America so unique among the nations of the world is that America is the first nation to embrace the distinctly Christian idea of property.

The Christian idea holds that property is first those substances you don’t see with your natural eyes and without which the property you do see and believe to be yours is not.

The failure to understand the most sacred of all property is why most Christians in America need permission to use and dispose of the goodness of the King in their lives.

I’m delighted that you were edified by the content of this episode. Without the Christian idea of property, there is no liberty. Liberty and property go hand-in-hand.

When the state owns essentially everything under ones care, custody, and control, that is an indictment against the official expression of Christians known as church.

Christians who refuse to make an accommodative deal with the evil empire are enlightened by God the Holy Spirit to come out of the ruins of Babylonian captivity and rebuild all things according to the divine pattern of ownership, which leads to maturity.

If owning things is a sin, God would be the chief of sinners. He doesn’t want things owning His people. Rather, that we exercise the mandate of His authority to displace and destroy the evil strongholds of socialism, marxism, and communism. Evidence of these false lawgivers losing ground to the government of Jesus Christ is His people enjoying the exclusive use and disposition of things (property).

What a great episode on the distinctly Christian idea of property firmly embedded in the American Republic & protected by the Constitution! I love the quote from James Madison, “Conscience is the most sacred of all property” and I can see why the original Webster’s dictionary of 1828 was replaced especially when he used as a footnote quoting Gen.1:26-30, “God created man with a clear mandate to exercise dominion on His land”!
Thank you Barry for bringing these powerful ideas of liberty to the forefront of America’s conscience & identity.
